San Jose del Cabo is located at the southern end of the peninsula of Baja California in Mexico, at the confluence of the Cortes with the Pacific inlet. The neighbouring village of Cabo San Lucas, a major tourist centre, is about a half to reach an hour's drive away and a car fast.

Pirates, Jesuit preacher and immigrants marked the place, the main square in the old town today is a popular meeting place. Here is the impressive church Parroquia San José and in the Nebengassen, visitors will find many nice shops, ice-cream parlours and bakeries with small cafes. Slowly San Jose del Cabo spreads out, growing in North and West, where new area. At the kilometre-long white sandy beaches, ranging almost down to the village, La Playita is a tourist area with new accommodation and many sports on offer.
Particularly popular from the fishing trips from the small port. San Jose del Cabo is considered one of the best fishing for Marlin or tuna on the Mexican Pacific coast. On the popular Costa Azul, sunbathing and water sports enthusiasts gather. A good surfing spot is located at the western end of the beach. The unusual and attractive desert and mountains to the city can be explored well with a rental car. Interesting tours to the scenic East are Cape, or the secluded beaches and coves South of La Playita.
