Veracruz is a Mexican city with the largest seaport of the country of Mexico. You is located on the Gulf of Mexico, generally considered to be the oldest Spanish founded settlement in Central America, and has a population of more than 500,000.

The Centre of Veracruz is characterised by Spanish colonial buildings and Caribbean ease. Meeting point is the PlatzZoalco with its circumferential arcades, where numerous restaurants, cafés and the Palacio Muncipal resides. On the course and in the surrounding streets is often in the evening obtainanzt to live music.

On an upstream, connected to the mainland island, is the featured Spanish fortress, the Castillo San Juan. Interesting are also the aquarium with many rare tropical fish and the Naval Museum near the port. Beautiful, flat sloping beaches located just outside of Veracruz. You can be easily reached by bus or with a rental car. Recommended is the beaches at Boca del Rio.

The ruined city Zempoala, is around 50 km away from Veracruz. It was a centre of Totonac culture, which probably existed between the 4th and 14th centuries. Next to the waterfall of El Encanto, several rivers rafting and canoe tours are offered on which are located in close proximity of the town. Mexico City, the Mexican capital, is located about 450 km away, in a westerly direction.
